It was in the late 1970s that I got my first box of Technic LEGO. It was the 850 Fork lift truck. I loved it. Still do, and am especially appreciating the effort that went into the presentation. A real box, reinforced with polystyrene foam. With a lid that could open and close again. A plastic cover for separate compartments which displayed the most attractive parts. One can lift out the plastic compartments to find the manual neatly folded under a red cover. That was something else than a bunch of bags and a booklet just flushing out of a soft cardbox box.

I lost the 4 x 6 plate in yellow, and some of the bricks are becoming brittle, unfortunately.
